so, I've been searching for tutorials to learn basics, advanced etc.. techniques that one always seems to miss. The problem is that there are no real tutorials out there, they never seem to be boradcast quality nor work that a person could be proud of. Bad retinal scans, light sabers, starwars openings, wiggling baloons. Even the turorials one has to pay for are just as bad. It's understandable that to make money you must be ahead of the game and people don't like to give out tutorials or secrets until they are way out of style or seen too many times. Good design is always in the mesage and not in the eye candy, I agree, BUT, does anyone know of a site to visit, book to buy, cd rom to purchase that will teach real world examples and techniques??
for example: I can never figure out the best way to animate 2D layers in a 3D evironment. animate the layer or the camera? I know it can vary, nothing is black and white, but If you want to see an example of what I'm talking about go to www.freedominteractivedesign.com/main.htm and click on any of the projects once the page is loaded...you will see presentation videos. what do you guys think? animated layers in 3D space or animated camera.
thanks for your time, bad day at work
